A Prayer for Future Believers
- I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, (John 17:20)
- UNITY
- That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, (John 17:21)
- MISSION
- …so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (John 17:21)
- SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
- …that they also may be in us (John 17:21)
- PERSONAL
- OUR UNITY—OUR PERSONAL MISSION—OUR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
- “What is the Chief end of man? To Glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” (Question #1, Westminster Shorter Catechism)
- “GLORIFY GOD”
- “ENJOY HIM FOREVER.”
- RELATIONSHIP
- …that they also may be in us (John 17:21) [REPEAT SLIDE]
- OUR PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with The Father— Through Jesus— By the Power of the Holy Spirit.
- GLOW OF GOD
- I glorified you on earth…(John 17:4)
- HIS GLORY IN US
- The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one. (John 17:22)
- …so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (John 17:21) [REPEAT SLIDE]
- We Glorify God by Enjoying Him Forever (John Piper, Desiring God)
- SPIRITUAL COMMUNION is PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with The FATHER— Through JESUS THE SON— By the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT.
- UNITY
- The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one. (John 17:22)
- PRAY: Father, I pray that I may be one with Jesus and one with you, so that the world may know that you sent Him, and loved them even as you have loved me.
