Holy Heretics - Zbinden Center Lay Academy
The Reformation of the 16th century was a transformative period for the church in Europe, coinciding with the emergence of modern science, politics, commerce, education, and philosophy. During this time, while scientists like Galileo were challenging established knowledge through their study of the natural world, theologians such as John Wycliffe, Jan Hus, Martin Luther, and John Calvin were questioning the dogma and authority of the papacy through their deep study of the Bible. Despite their efforts to renew the church, they were labeled as heretics by the very institution they aimed to reform.
Center Conversations
Center Conversations is a podcast celebrating innovative theological study, Biblical formation, and discipleship in the church and for the church, so that God’s mission may be furthered through the church.
