Serve & Care

Marriage Ministry

This fall a new FPC committee was formed! The Marriage Ministry committee was created to specifically minister to all people married or engaged to be married, within our congregation and the community.  The Marriage Ministry will have three components: Premarital, Marriage Enrichment, and Struggling in Marriage.

Using an amazing tool called the Prepare & Enrich test, couples are able to receive encouragement and support at any stage in their marriage. Prepare & Renew is an online test you take individually, with assessment and follow up mentoring and counseling included. The committee covers the cost of your online individual test, and a private or group meeting to discuss how to interpret results. (The registration form is below.)

Nora and Carlos Rodriguez from our ministry partner, San Antonio Marriage Initiative (SAMI), are committed to providing leadership and counseling as well as training for Covenant Partners who want to participate, and those who feel called to be FPC Marriage Ministry Mentor Couples. The first Mentor Couples training is scheduled for Saturday, January 22.

If you would like more information, please call Bobby and Downie Mickler at (210) 284-1497 or email rmickler@gmail.com. The Marriage Ministry Committee consists of the Micklers, Laura and Trebes Sasser, Muffin and Morris Camp, Joe and Sandy Moore, and Ryan and Emily McLaughlin.

There is a lot more to come…events, small groups, classes, and two-on-two opportunities.

“Let marriage be held in honor among all.”

Hebrews 13:4
