SA Heals Serving Opportunities

SA Heals is a ministry on the East Side of San Antonio which works with families and children in the neighborhood around Washington Elementary School. There are several opportunities to serve with the children just minutes away from FPC, through their Reading Buddies Program, volunteering as a Lunch Buddy, and more. Please contact Lindsay Selli (lindsays@fpcsat.org) for more information about ways to serve, and training opportunities.

KRL Needs Clothing Donations & Volunteers!

The Kingdom Restoration Lab (KRL) at FPC would like to fill its food and clothing pantries at our new location with necessities for our under-resourced neighbors in their journey to becoming self-sufficient. At this time, we are most in need of socks and undergarments. An Amazon wish list has been created by our partner, Christian Hope Resource Center (CHRC);  Click HERE for the list and to make a purchase. All of the items that you purchase will be shipped directly to the KRL. Thank you so much for your help in this endeavor to serve even more of our San Antonio community!

Volunteer! If you are interested in volunteering for our KRL ministries, contact Lindsay at lindsays@fpcsat.org.

Loaves & Fishes

Saturday | September 21 | 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM | Student Center
Loaves and Fishes is our monthly opportunity to welcome our under-resourced neighbors for lunch where they will be fed physically and spiritually. We meet in the Student Center on the third Saturday of each month. From 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM, we begin with orientation and then participate in Loaves and Fishes. We have teams for set up, serving, showers, and clean up and we hope all participants will join our guests for a meal around a table.

Freedom Sunday

Sunday | September 22 | All Services & Lunch
Welcome International Justice Mission (IJM) Regional President for Latin America, Pablo Villeda, to FPC. Pablo will be in all three services and we will host a lunch immediately following the 11:00 AM services to learn more about serving Christ in Latin America. RSVP for the lunch at missions@fpcsat.org, noting your name and the number attending. Childcare is available by reservation by emailing childcare@fpcsat.org.

One By One Training Event

Saturday | September 28 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | KRL
One by One is a Christ-centered, one on one, mentoring ministry to expectant and new moms in need in our city. Its mission is to mentor and educate new moms to parent well so that their children will flourish and a positive impact will be made upon the next generation against poverty, neglect and abuse. One by One’s Vision is that moms will experience God’s love in these mentoring relationships and that they and their families will come to saving faith in Christ.

If you are interested in learning more or becoming a part of this transformational ministry, there will be a One by One Training Event at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 28. Contact annescates@gmail.com for more information, or register here.

Babysitting Collaborative (Foster Care Babysitting Certification)

Saturday | October 5 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Westminster Hall
You can be an integral part of keeping children in foster care in a secure and loving home. By giving their foster parents the breaks they need, they’ll be able to refresh, refocus, and re-enter the mission field of loving our city’s most vulnerable kids. At this Babysitting Collaborative event, we have partnered with 12 local foster agencies to combine the multiple training steps and simplify the paperwork process. Certification that used to take weeks can now be completed in just one day! We have even partnered with local companies for free and discounted services.

Register today by clicking here– spots are limited and we will likely sell out!

* You must be 18 years of age to complete this training.
* Total out-of-pocket costs for certification will be approx. $90 ($45 FBI fingerprinting, $30 CPR, and $15 event registration).
*Thanks to a generous grant from the Gage Foundation, FREE CPR/First Aid for the first 50 people to register!
