Welcome to the Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church, we are glad you are here!  We are a welcoming, loving, and fun place to serve others and learn more about Jesus!  We have so much going on and we would love to have you join us. Please know that everyone is invited.  We hope that you will join us for a Bible study, retreat, service project, youth group event, or any of the other great things that are going on right now.

In the Presbyterian Church we have a tradition of celebrating our young people when they are ready to make a commitment to the life of the church in a formal way. We do this through the process of Confirmation. This class meets Sunday mornings during the 9:30 AM education hour and is open to all interested youth in grades 8–12. Through teaching of Old and New Testament surveys, Church history, creeds/confessions, and worship we explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus as Presbyterian Christians.

Students learn through interactive large group teaching, small group discussions and one-on-one mentoring with an adult from the congregation. We celebrate our young people at a special Confirmation Banquet, joined by their parents, mentors and officers of the church. At this dinner, students read their faith statements and take their vows of membership.

First Presbyterian Church is partnering with World Vision to help Children in desperate need of resources and love.

The church is focusing on Mutendere, Malawi. The youth ministry is sponsoring a young boy named John Mvula. We will be collecting money to support him each Sunday morning. We will also be writing him cards and emails, as well as praying for him continually. We would love for you to partner with us in any way you want.

Please contact Emily Yergler at emilyy@fpcsat.org for information on making donations or personally sponsoring a child through World Vision.
