Children in Worship
First Pres believes teaching children that worship is a vital part of their lives. It is a priority and intention. The Family and Student Ministry team encourages families to take the time to worship together at any of our three worship services.
A Time for Young Disciples
We celebrate children as a part of our worshiping community, recognizing the biblical tradition of children as members of the covenant community of God. In all worship services, we warmly invite your children to come to the front and hear a special message from the preaching pastor. The message ties in with the scripture and sermon for the day, which creates an appetizer for your children to hear the Word of God recited and preached. After the worship service, in your own way and at a time that is convenient for you, we encourage you to discuss the message your children heard and the Scripture together.
Tables for Faith Families to Worship Together
In the contemporary worship service, families may choose to sit together at tables set up to enhance the worship experience for their children. Kids can use the activities provided at the tables as they participate in worship, and adults can look for ways to engage with the kids about God’s Word and the message being preached.
Children’s Worship Bags
In the 9:30 and 11:00 Traditional worship services in the Sanctuary, children are encouraged to pick up a children’s worship bag from one of the ushers when they enter. Kids can use the activities provided in the worship bags as they participate in the worship service.
