2017 Nomination of Church Officers
Elders and Deacons | Class of 2020
The life of the congregation is enriched by the many different kinds of service that
members offer. This represents an expression of Paul’s great picture of the church
as the body of Christ, with each member contributing to the health of the whole.
(I Corinthians 12)
Congregational leadership is one important area of service in the church. Each
year, members of First Presbyterian Church are called by the congregation to
exercise a ministry of leadership within the church as Elders and Deacons. These
are distinctive leadership roles, calling for particular gifts and commitment.
Sunday, February 26, members of FPC voted to approve the Officer Nominating
Committee members for 2017 at a Congregational Meeting. The work of this
dedicated group is essential to the health and well-being of FPC.
The committee met and considered the persons suggested by the congregation together with
the members who have served as officers in the past, and exercised its collective judgment in
deciding which members to nominate and present to the congregation for election on Sunday,
April 9, 2017. The congregation unanimously voted in favor of the nominees! A formal
installation will take place at services on Sunday, June 11th.
If you happen to see them, please express your appreciation for their commitment and
dedication to serving as leaders of First Pres!
