Confirmation

FPC Student Center • 9:30-10:30 AM

In the Presbyterian Church we have a tradition of celebrating our young people when they are ready to make a commitment to the life of the church in a formal way. We do this through the process of Confirmation. This class meets Sunday mornings during the 9:30 a.m. education hour and is open to all interested youth in grades 8–12. Through teaching of Old and New Testament surveys, Church history, creeds/confessions, and worship we explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus as Presbyterian Christians.

Students learn through interactive large group teaching, small group discussions and one-on-one mentoring with an adult from the congregation. We celebrate our young people at a special Confirmation Banquet, joined by their parents, mentors and officers of the church. At this dinner, students read their faith statements and take their vows of membership. This year the banquet will be held on May 14, and the students will be received publicly in worship on Confirmation Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Middle School Retreat

February 16-18, 2018
Camp Eagle, Rock Springs, TX

Retreats are a great way to get away from it all and have a great time playing games and learning about Jesus. Each year the middle school students get out in the wilderness at one of the amazing camps around San Antonio. We play crazy games, make crafts, go on nature walks, eat smore’s, talk about God, and just hang out. It is an awesome time spent with each other away from all of our electronics.

The youth ministry is sponsoring a young boy named John Mvula. We will be collecting money to support him each Sunday morning. We will also be writing him cards and emails, as well as praying for him continually. We would love for you to partner with us in any way you want.
