Friday Singers are a key element in our outreach effort to retirement and rehabilitation communities in the greater San Antonio area. Comprised of people who like to sing for the joy of singing, they develop programs of “old favorites” and familiar Christmas songs. There are solos, duets, and choruses. There are instrumentals and singalongs. And they are almost always invited back the next year. This singing group seeks to bring joy through music into the lives of others and have fun while doing so. The rewards in this service for Christ are numerous, coming with smiles and hugs from residents and a community of close fellowship within the group itself. Requests for the Friday Singers to bring their musical talents throughout the City are already coming to Charlotte, and it promises to be a busy singing season. Join in the mission to make life brighter in our community.

November 8 | singing at Normandy Terrace Nursing Home on Rice Road.

November 15 | singing at the Brookdale on N. Fredericksburg and that is followed by our program at Brookdale facility on Hamilton Wolfe.

November 22 | singing for the Meridian Assisted Living and Nursing at Grayson Square, not far from FPC on E. Grayson.

Thank You Notes

Thank you note from Sally

I received this note addressed to the Friday Singers, in a lovely “In Appreciation” card:

“Thanks for your special contribution to my dad’s memorial service.  It made it so special – He loved being with all of you, and you were so good to him.  I’ll forever be grateful to you all –

Blessings,

Sallie”

Of course, that’s Sallie Guy regarding Lowell Embs, her Dad, and we were also blessed to have him with us.

Thank you from Grace Place

Good Morning Charlotte,

I wanted to take a minute to thank the Friday Singers for coming to Grace Place North East last Friday.  I know you were able to witness the joy our clients experienced during your visit.  However, what you were not able to see was the after effect, once you had left the facility.    Their moods were elevated all day and it warmed my heart to hear several clients humming a couple of the tunes you entertained them with earlier that day.  This is significant for any person suffering from dementia.

Again, a million thanks to you and your Friday Singers for the good works you do.  We are thrilled every year when you come visit us!

Sincerely yours,

Cyd, Staff and all the GracePlace clients!
