FPC welcomes Christ of the Hills Church as new ECO satellite,

A key focus of First Pres in the years ahead is church planting – sponsoring and establishing new ECO churches in and around our region – and we are proud to announce the successful establishment of our first satellite church plant: Christ of the Hills Church in Boerne, Texas!

In July of 2016, organizers of the new church met with our Session, requesting our sponsorship and help establishing the church. After a unanimous vote of support, the organizers went to work naming and growing the church to what is now 24 worshipers. On November 12, 2016, ECO formally accepted the church into the Texas Presbytery of the denomination.

What started as worship services the living room of Dee and Katy Calverley has now moved to the historic Ye Kendall Inn in downtown Boerne, where it holds its Sunday services and Bible studies.

“Our calling is to teach the word of God and to minister to the needs of the hurting world in our community,” said Katy Calverley. “We live in a time of increased Biblical confusion.  We must know Christ through the study of God’s word so that we can proclaim Him to the world.”

Please visit Christ of the Hills’ new website, www.christofthehills.org, for more information about the church, including worship times.

We congratulate and welcome Christ of the Hills into the ECO family, and look forward to continuing our efforts with future church planting!
